Dual education

Metalfer consistently supports ambitious young individuals on their educational and professional journey, this time through the “Dual Education” project. As has become tradition, this year we are offering our high school students a contemporary educational approach, introducing them to current professions like welder-locksmiths and machine operators, ensuring they receive both theoretical and hands-on knowledge.

It was our pleasure to host representatives from the Technical High School “Nikola Tesla” and parents of our future students, as part of our collective endeavor to support and equip our high school students for the thrilling challenges ahead. Within the environment of our state-of-the-art workshop and under the guidance of our experienced craftsmen and engineers, they will have an invaluable opportunity to develop professional skills, acquire their initial work experiences and habits, and ultimately secure the potential for long – term employment.

As a company deeply rooted in our local community, we take immense pride in our ability to contribute to the growth of our youth and the future of our region. May this initiative stand as a beacon of our shared progress!

It marked the fourth decade of the existence of IREPAS, the premier global event for the long steel market.

At the heart of this grandiose event, with a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus, the members of Metalfer Group’s Supervisory Board actively participated, offering invaluable insights and perspectives pertinent to the industry. Their presence and contribution at the conference were a testament to their professionalism and expertise, emphasizing the importance of innovation, sustainable development, and partnerships in the realm of steel.

This year, the esteemed Metalfer Steel Mill has taken the initiative to endorse the participation of its employees in the autumnal regional football league, which sees increasing popularity among local teams with each passing year. Set against the gilded embrace of the Srem autumn, this decision is not merely a testament to the company’s dedication to the well-being and recreational pursuits of its staff but is emblematic of its deeply ingrained values surrounding teamwork and collaboration.

The inaugural match brought with it a tidal wave of exhilaration and pride, as our team began the competition with a resounding victory. This success is not merely a reflection of the skill and prowess of our players, but epitomizes the genuine team spirit, dedication, and camaraderie that reigns among them. This spirit is mirrored within the production wings of Metalfer’s steel mill, where every individual contributes harmoniously, working in tandem as a cohesive unit to achieve unparalleled outcomes.

In the manner of a forest awakening its secrets every dawn, letting the birds narrate tales, this year’s grand performance at the City Theater echoed reminiscences of childhood and the wonders it brings. Metalfere Group revitalized this enchantment, shadowing the footsteps of the youngest on their educational journey.

Beneath the theater’s arches, in the spotlight’s gleam, shadows of first graders danced, while the youngsters surrendered to the magic of their inaugural school days. In that spirit, every first-year pupil was given a backpack brimming with essentials to embark on their educational odyssey, preparing themselves for novel and exhilarating experiences.

Yet, the ceremony wouldn’t be complete without the young artists who participated in the art competition, “My Magical Park”. Their hands crafted realms teeming with fantasy. The most imaginative were honored with appropriate gifts: bicycles, scooters and lego set thereby reaffirming the importance and passion for art and creativity.

With unwavering belief in the perpetual magic of education and the talent of our children, Metalfere Group has once again underlined its consistent presence, supporting the youth in their journey filled with splendid tales and boundless possibilities.

Steel, Sweat, and Spirit: The Powerplay of “Čeličenje” at Metalfer Steel Mill

“Čeličenje”, an annual event celebrating the spirit of teamwork and community at Metalfer Steel Mill, took place on June 2nd this year at Zasavica Nature Park. The Sports Day, designed to cultivate team spirit and promote a healthier lifestyle among employees, was a resounding success. Featuring an invigorating football tournament and a lively volleyball game, ‘Celicenje’ brought together employees from all walks of life at the company, establishing a ground for unity and mutual respect.

The event embraced an egalitarian spirit where no distinctions were made based on roles or ranks within the organization. From the blue-collar workers to the white-collar professionals, from the vigilant supervisors to the hardworking laborers, everyone participated with equal enthusiasm. The symbolism was evident; each participant donned the insignia of joy and happiness, the recognized symbol of Metalfer Steel Mill, affirming their allegiance and unity.

There was a powerful message embedded within this friendly competition – that of solidarity. It was evident that the strength of their relationships was as unyielding as the steel they produced. It didn’t matter whether they played for the ‘Stirer’, ‘Spuler’, or ‘Uvek Spremni’ teams. What mattered was that everyone was part of one big family, regardless of their position in the company or the department they represented. The entire facility, from the hall and the office to the playground, was filled with an undeniable energy of camaraderie.

“Čeličenje” goes beyond being a mere sports day – it is a testament to Metalfer Steel Mill’s commitment towards social responsibility. It emphasizes the importance of physical well-being and mental health of the employees, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting mutual respect. The Supervisory Board of the Metalfer Group marked a proactive attendance at the very first Western Balkans Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Summit, held in Porto Montenegro from April 26th to 28th. This Summit accentuate a significant milestone in regional dialogues centered on Environmental, Social, and Governance issues. As a leader in the Balkan industry, Metalfer Group’s involvement highlighted our unflinching commitment to embracing and advocating sustainable practices.

Nestled in the idyllic surroundings of Porto Montenegro over two days, the Summit gathered a various assembly of regional and global governmental and business leaders, along with sustainability experts. They convened to participate in meaningful dialogues on the imminent paradigm shift in global sustainability, a shift that threatens to obstruct markets across Southeast Europe.

The zenith of the Summit was a exposure delivered by Mr. Andreas Wiele, the co-founder of Oak Tree Power. The Supervisory Board of the Metalfer Group attended the annual gathering and business forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The forum, held in Uzbekistan, city of Samarkand, primarily focused on a strategic approach aimed at ensuring economic stability in times of crisis and fostering sustainable economic development.

The EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum drew an elite group of policymakers, business leaders, and experts from around the globe. The goal was to cultivate practical and effective strategies for building a more resilient global economy, one that is equipped to address challenges and identify opportunities for sustainable growth. In this mind-stretching and strategically oriented assembly, the Metalfer Group’s Supervisory Board played a pivotal role in the discussions. They imparted valuable insights from their own resilience strategies in challenging conditions, thereby actively contributing to the formulation of world-class practices and approaches.

It is held first ceremony for our first-grade pupils to be, “Newbie Scolar”

Since going to school is one of the most important events in the life of every child, we decided to support them and in this way to contribute to building a positive attitude towards education with an entertaining program and adequate gifts.

In the realization of the project, we had help of our little creative friends, participants of our “Moj Superheroj” art competition, and on this occasion we also awarded them. The most creative ones returned home with a new bicycle, rollerblades, scooter, first-grade pupils all with full school backpacks, and we, we went home determined to continue to support young people by motivating them to improve their knowledge and skills through education.

On Friday 9/12/2022. the Metalfer “Novogodisnji bal” was held

On that particular evening, a special kind of magic dusted the air for the Metalfer mini-royals. That Friday, everyone sprang from their beds, hearts aflutter, eagerly awaiting their departure for the ball. Our pint-sized academics were on tenterhooks for the final school bell, itching to arrive in time, while the youngest ones bubbled with excitement for their debut encounter with Father Frost. And indeed, they were punctual and exemplary. All decked out, with invitations in hand, masks over their eyes, and smiles as wide as the moon, they made their grand entrance into the ceremonial hall. In a twinkling, over 300 little Metalfer munchkins, parents, grandparents and all, were basking in a theatrical extravaganza and the capers of costumed entertainers. That night, the usual humdrum of factory noise, trucks, and printers was replaced by a symphony of children’s chatter, laughter, and applause. Of course, we dished out New Year’s goodie bags, each one thoughtfully curated to age and expectations. But as the curtain fell on the evening, it became clear that the most precious gift had been received not by the children, but by Metalfer himself.
